Camphora is a collective that provides integrated flora, fauna and arboriculture baseline data to inform design intent and formulate solutions for ecological conservation. We are seeking to hire enthusiastic & self-motivated individuals who have a passion for biodiversity & enjoy working outdoors.
As a Fauna Assistant, you will mainly be assisting Ecologists in the following (but not limited to) -------
• Execution of fauna surveys, including day and night surveys as well as camera trapping
• Conducting inspections at development sites
• Preparation of necessary logistics for surveys
• Processing of camera trapping and bat call data
• Data entry
• Writeup of fauna data or related tasks
As a Flora Assistant, you will mainly be assisting the Lead Botanist in the following (but not limited to) -------
• Execution of arboriculture and flora surveys in forests and mangroves
• Conducting flora and tree monitoring or inspections at development sites
• Preparation of necessary logistics for surveys
• Identify plant specimens
• Collection and pressing of plant specimens
• Data entry
• Writeup of vegetation or floristic data and related tasks
As a Graduate Ecologist, you will mainly be assisting Senior and Lead Ecologists in the following (but not limited to) -------
Graduate Ecologist [Terrestrial Fauna] & Graduate Ecologist [Marine]
• Planning and leading the execution of fauna surveys, including day and night surveys, as well as camera trapping
• Conducting of fauna monitoring and inspections at development sites
• Preparation of logistics necessary for surveys
• Processing of survey data, including camera traps and acoustic bat recordings
• Data entry, management, and analysis
• Report writing, including integration of baseline information in impact assessments and development of recommendations
• Prepare for and attend meetings with client
Graduate Ecologist [Flora]
•Planning and leading the execution of flora and arboricultural surveys in forest and mangrove
• Conducting of flora and tree monitoring or inspections at development sites
•Preparation of necessary logistics for surveys
• Identification plant specimens
• Collection and pressing of plant specimens
• Data entry, management, and analysis
• Report writing, including integration of baseline information in impact assessments and development of recommendations
• Prepare for and attend meetings with clients
As a Landscape Architect, you will be in-charge of the following (but not limited to) -------
• Producing landscape architectural work from concept to implementation
• Preparing design studies and producing designs in various formats such as sketches, drawings, 3D digital studies, etc
• Working with Ecologists to translate field data into design requirements for habitat creation and impact mitigation
• Execution of surveys in forest and intertidal settings (day/night)
As an Arborist, you will be in-charge of the following (but not limited to) -------
• Planning and execution of tree inspections
• Providing arborist recommendations
• Producing arboricultural reports
• Attend and prepare for meetings
Internship Opportunities
As an intern at Camphora, you will learn about the objectives, components and processes involved in local Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Monitoring and Management Programs (EMMP) through exposure with the following:
Assisting with field surveys
& inspections
Report writing and desktop research
Attending client meetings
with lead biologists
